A calling

Although law is a service profession, it is also a public profession. As attorneys, we are supposed to serve our clients zealously. This includes representing our clients, as counselors, citizens, reformers, community activists, and public servants. By doing so we maintain the integrity of the legal community. As attorneys, we play many roles. One of those roles requires attorneys to not only represent the client's interests before the legal system, but also represent the legal system to the client.
